Travel Overview

Getting around in Paris is a breeze once you learn to navigate the metro rail system, known as the RER, an interconnected system of 5 express rail lines. Paris has one of the best metro rail systems in the world, and you’re never more than a 10 minutes from a station. While walking is a great way to see the city, it’s usually more convenient to take the RER to the nearest spot and walk from there. This allows you to take in more sites, and of course gives you a great way to get back to your room at the end of the night to rest those tired feet.
